Pascal Magis, born in 1955, he lives and works in France. Abstract Variations. Graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in 1976 under the name of Cartonnier-Lissier, Pascal Magis spent many years designing tapestry, through which he earned a reputation. In 1984 he decided to return to his first love: painting. In his abstract compositions raw colours dominate. Red, blue and yellow intermingle, leaping from the heart of the canvas, drawn along by the artist’s powerful strokes. Movement, energetic strokes and a lively palette characterise Pascal Magis’ work, which is now famous around the world.
Pascal Magis’s paintings display a combination of all the positives in his art over the past twenty years and contain the qualities of colour, harmony, movement and spontaneity that have made him one of the world’s great abstract artists. He held many successful exhibitions at our gallery and extensively in Europe, his paintings being collected both privately and corporately. Pascal sadly passed away at the end of 2011.
